At Dahabshiil, we were proud to support RISE Projects in the delivery of their vital community initiative, the RISE Community Food Hub, which has become a lifeline for many families in Haringey and surrounding boroughs. At a time when economic uncertainty and financial instability continue to affect households across the UK, this initiative stepped in to provide much-needed assistance to those most impacted. The Food Hub offers weekly distributions of essential groceries, fresh produce, and household items to local families, many of whom are facing food insecurity as a direct result of the cost-of-living crisis.
The recipients of the RISE Community Food Hub represent the rich cultural diversity of the area, with service users coming from Somali, Turkish, Arab, African, Caribbean, and Asian backgrounds. These communities have been disproportionately affected by recent economic downturns, with many individuals experiencing job losses or reduced income. For some, these challenges were compounded by existing social or housing inequalities, creating a perfect storm of hardship.
